Same as priest – we all know the work Lurrus puts in. The non-combat damage reach of this deck is one of the reasons its been working out so well. The deck stacks celebrant triggers fairly reliably.

We all know how insane this card is right? No need to really sing anymore praises? Just remember to hold full control when using her activation with a non-escaped Kroxa cast. If you can manage, it's usually best to save this in your hand until as late as possible, to conceal the extra damage that you'll be able to push through on your opponent. If you’re somehow flooding with no plays later in the game – this can loop a Gutterbones to push through some extra damage. I replaced Woe Strider for this because the damage is very relevant, especially combined with Celebrant triggers to close out a game. This card has put in serious work in this deck. This is the card that keeps you in the game against aggressive decks. The damage on death really helps push through our late-game plan.Įxcellent defender that also fills are graveyard for Lurrus/Call targets and Kroxa fuel. The fact that this hits hard as a 1 drop, and we have equally or more valuable 2 drops gives the deck good defense against Extinction Event since we can expect to still have some decent power on board afterwards. So first, the fodder.Įarly damage dealer that can easily recur. There are a lot of low-end creatures that could slot decently into an aristocrat deck, but I feel the core I’ve got serve pretty good purposes. (If anyone has recommended improvements to my mana base – PLEASE let me know, I’ve always sucked at constructing mana bases). Broodmoth is also a fantastic piece of top end, helping shore up both the deck's defense and offense. I’d go as far as to say Priest of the Forgotten Gods is one of the strongest cards in standard right now, and if your deck has reliable ways to recur her, then even better. One of the things this archetype has going for it is that priest/claim are still busted strong cards. Other than that, my run included the usual ladder suspects of Sultai, mono-red/green aggro, Winota and various Temur decks – none of the matches felt overwhelming and none of the opponents were able to respond quickly enough to my gameplan to secure their win. During my run from Diamond 3 to top 300, I only dropped one game against mono-green where I just didn’t draw any lands on game 3. I recently climbed to top #300 mythic playing Mardu Aristocrats, and I feel this list has a pretty decent gameplan against most of the meta so I want to share.
